Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 in the Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci as she was only 6 years old. The first time she competed was at the national junior championships which she was 13th place in 1969. In 1970, Comaneci won. In 1972, during the communist nations' meet for junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she was awarded 3 gold and silver medals. After that, in 1973 and 1974 she won the all-around junior champ. She won four gold and one silver medals at her senior debut international competition that took place in 1975. This was her first time she had competed as an adult. In 1976 she became the first person in the world to use a backwards-double salto to dismount from parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she was performing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol ventured into the world of entertainment in her teens. She began her professional career by performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment show Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating shows.
