Jennifer Garner, born April 17, 1972, in Houston, Texas, was born within Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner served as an engineer at Union Carbide. The mother of her Patricia Ann taught at a local university. The father of her was an engineer in the chemical industry, so she wanted to be like his. She moved to New York in order to fulfill her ambitions as an actor. She worked as a chef in a New York restaurant and was a part of Broadway productions. Garner was a small part on "Felicity" (where it was that she first met Scott Foley). Her breakthrough came with the action-thriller "Alias." Her first lead role was in the highly acclaimed romance "13 Going on 30." She portrayed a teenager who found herself trapped in the body of a 30-year-old. Garner selected Gary Winick as the director of her movie. The team continued to look for new projects after Winick's demise in 2011. Garner, who was designated as an ambassador for artists with Save the Children U.S.A. in 2009, was an integral role in the nonprofit organization. Alongside encouraging the importance of early education, literacy as well as nutrition at a national level, Garner's role involves promoting national literacy. Garner was appointed to the board of directors of this non-profit organisation in the year 2014. Garner advocates for early childhood development. Being a part of the Early Steps to School Success (EASS) team of ambassadors for the program Garner regularly visits families to coach them on ways to inspire their kids to succeed.
